Another pair of socks

Yes, I’m still knitting but having a difficult time blogging after taking a week off to help with funeral arrangements.

Last night I just completed Pretty Comfy Sock .

Last weekend I did take pictures of how I worked the short row heels but it took much longer then expected to put together.

I’m still working on it but here’s what I have so far -> Short Row Heels.

My next small project will be the Flared Lace Smoke Ring from HeartStrings knitted in Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool.

  1. Hi!
I’ve seen pictures of the Flared Lace Smoke Ring, and would really like to knit it myself, but since I live in Denmark, I am not able to buy the pattern anywhere. Do you know how I could get the pattern?
    happy knitting 🙂

  2. Elizabeth,
I got the pattern from my local yarn shop, The Weaving Works (www.weavingworks.com). I’m not sure if they’ll ship to Denmark. You could send them an e-mail and see if they’ll do it.
You can also try Woodland Woolworks (www.woodlandwoolworks.com). Send them an e-mail to see if they send items to Europe. Their catalog is a PDF that can be found at http://www.woodlandwoolworks.com/Catalogs/CatalogHomePage.html . and they take orders at

The pattern is on page 6 of the Fall & Winter Catalog.
If you have trouble getting it from one of these shops then perhaps we can do a trade. I can get a copy send it to you and then you can send me something from Denmark. The pattern is USD 4.50.

  3. I look forward to trying out the short row technique you’ve explained so clearly. My preference is toe up but I reckon the direction I’m going won’t matter. I’ve never been happy with my wrapped wraps on the socks I’ve done to date. Thank you for such an effort.

  4. Hi,
Those are a very pretty sock color and design. Ok I’ve been knitting for a while now,I have more of a question. I’m doing a picot edge on a sock after the last k2tog. I didn’t yo so I’m missing a opening how do I do that before going to the next needle? and was that wrong? the pattern calls for *k2tog,YO repeat on an even number of stitches. Thanks
